About Us

Curated

Gourmet Programs

Curated, otherwise unobtainable encounters, tailored to the personal preferences of each and every client.
Top chefs, destination restaurants, street eats, and food related producers and businesses.
We enrich our clients’ experiences in ways that no-one else can by drawing on deep first-hand experience, connections and insider knowledge, gained from years of living, working and travelling in Japan.
Our unique focus on the cuisine and dining space means our clients can be assured that they will have an enriched, authentic experience – Not one dictated by hype or industry trends that see most visitors telling the same tales again and again.
Top Notch

Before launching Umai Japan, Ben, our Founder, was fortunate enough to experience the food scene in Tokyo and wider Japan for well over a decade, under the guidance of local friends, family and connections who are truly experts in the field.
Time and again, we discovered hidden gems and up-and-coming restaurants that were later recognised by mainstream food media, including Gourmet Traveller, Time Out and Michelin. We were inspired to share this unique knowledge with others and Umai Japan was born. Universally positive feedback has proved that Umai Japan is on to something truly special.

THE BEST MEAL IS ONE YOU THINK ABOUT AGAIN AND AGAIN, NO MATTER WHAT IT COST.
